Singareni wins Enertia Foundation Award

Hyderabad: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited ( SCCL) has received another prestigious award at the national level in recognition of its outstanding services in the field of environmentally friendly sustainable mining as well as unconventional energy.

The Enertia Foundation selects and encourages organisations that are performing best in promoting sustainable energy and renewable energy sources in India and South Asia by presenting awards every year.

This year, Singareni has been selected as the best company in the “India’s Best and Most Sustainable Coal Mining Operator with Renewable Energy Adoption” category.

This prestigious award will be presented to Singareni at the 17th National Level Awards Ceremony to be organised by the Enertia Foundation in Visakhapatnam on December 20.

The awards committee jury convener, R. Thyagarajan Iyer, stated that the Singareni Company, which has not only successfully conducted sustainable mining while giving priority to environmentally friendly mining, but has also successfully moved forward with solar power generation, one of the non-conventional energy sources, has been selected as the best company at the national level in these fields.

Meanwhile, Singareni Collieries CMD N Balaram said the national-level award announced by Enertia is a recognition of the environmentally friendly actions taken by the Singareni Company. He further stated that the SCCL will move forward with the spirit by carrying out its environmental activities more effectively in the days to come.
